Gateway to Degrees’ goal is to see St. Louis become a top 10 region for degree attainment by 2025. As a community collaboration between higher education, community organizations, and employers, Gateway to Degrees’ mission is to connect working adults in the region with the support and resources that will help them get back to and through college.
There are more than 400,000 adults in the St. Louis region with some college and no degree.
Currently, 42% of St. Louisians hold an associate’s degree or higher.
Out of the top 20 metropolitan regions in the US, St. Louis currently ranks 13th.
There are 36 million individuals in the United States with some college credit but no degree.
By 2020, 65% of all jobs will require a college education.
Youth with an adult in the home with a college degree are 3x more likely to attend college and earn a degree
